by Judson Press[1] - The African American Pulpit and featured
on B.E.T.com as one of the “Next Spiritual Leaders to
Make History,” God has given "Rev. Jackie",
as she is affectionately called, a ministry of "firsts".
She has had the opportunity to be the first female revivalist
for Allen Temple Baptist Church and the first woman to preach
Men's Day in the history of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Reverend Thompson is a dynamic speaker, bringing her message
to youth, women and the general Body of Christ all over the
country at conferences, retreats and workshops. Her unique
preaching style has opened doors across denominational lines
as well as in mainstream civic and political organizations,
including the National Urban League and the National Council
of Negro Women. In addition to her service at the local church
level, Reverend Thompson has also served as delegate and officer
of the Progressive National Baptist Convention on the State,
Regional and National levels. Reverend Thompson is also an
author. She served as the Editorial Assistant and a contributing
writer for the successful, Women of Color Study Bible released
in 2000 and Promises for Women of Color released in 2001.
Reverend Thompson understands that "man doth not live
by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth
of the Lord doth man live". She is a child of the Most
High God and is excited to have the opportunity to proclaim
the Gospel wherever and whenever the opportunity presents
itself.
